hi, i'm amber vasquez.

i was born and raised in pico rivera, california, and i've always been drawn to art in every form. words, sound, illustration, cosmetics— everything that led me here: the beauty of ink on skin.

because my background is in songwriting and design, precision and passion have always gone hand-in-hand for me. i found my way into the world of permanent makeup because it feels like another kind of storytelling— one that lives and breathes on the face.

but the road here wasn't simple. i spent a long time feeling lost, unsure of what to do with my life. i graduated from high school in 2018 then went to a local community college, just to make it seem like i was doing something even though i didn't know what i wanted. i was an english major taking three semesters of french classes while working part-time in retail. i dropped out of college in 2019, just before the pandemic, and kept working retail. by 2022, i was officially burnt out. i couldn't carry on.

since then, i started working independently— delivering groceries to make ends meet. but it's not the dream. in october 2025, i drove six hours from LA to san ramon and trained under katrina baligaya, owner of Brows By Katrina, one of the industry’s top leading artists. i learned the balance of technical mastery and artistic intuition under her guidance.

every client, every set of brows, has its own unique rhythm and i treat each one like a sacred composition. this line of duty isn't about chasing perfection (though i'll always be a perfectionist); it's about creating harmony. sharing your story through subtle, precise artistry. helping you see your beauty in a truer, more confident light.

and i love what i do.

what is needle kissed?

Close-up of a tattoo artist wearing pink gloves, tattooing someone, holding the tattoo machine and needle cartridge in their hand.

needle kissed is the bridge between precision and poetry; where there’s artistry in every stroke.

but what does that really mean?

the name “needle kissed” comes from how i see the craft: the needle doesn't poke or stab— it kisses.

every stroke of my machine is intentional, every pigment is chosen with care. subtle yet unforgettable. intimately ethereal.

this brand is more than just a pmu studio— it's a love letter to beauty, to self-expression, to the people who find art in the tiniest details.

and that's what this is about; not just tattooing brows, but helping you see your own beauty through an elevated lens.

stay needle kissed,

xoxo
