aftercare
how to care for your new brows:
let’s protect the art we just made! your brows are in their healing era, and they’re going to need some TLC to get the best results. you’ve already done the hardest part, so let’s go over a few things to remember.
the first 3 days:
⟡ NO touching or sunbathing— avoid sun exposure as much as possible.
⟡ NO excessive sweating or wetting— avoid working out, avoid washing your brows/forehead/temples when washing your face, avoid wetting your brows in the shower.
the first 10 days:
⟡ NO makeup on or around your eyebrows.
the first 2 weeks:
⟡ DO NOT pick or peel at your brows. they will scab as part of the normal healing process. let any flaking skin/scabs fall off on their own.
⟡ NO public waters (swimming in pools or the ocean, saunas, etc.)
⟡ continue to avoid excessive sweating and direct sun exposure.
how to wash your new brows…
ON THE THIRD DAY:
⟡ gently wash your brows with warm water and a mild soap (aveeno, cetaphil, cerave, etc.) making sure to NOT scrub your brows.
⟡ pat your brows dry then apply a grain-sized amount of aquaphor to each brow using a clean cotton swab. no more aquaphor after this first application! let your brows breathe and heal naturally ♡
...that's it! you may resume washing your brows as normal going forward— just be careful not to scrub while they're still healing.
the healing process
please refer to the included infographic to learn about the different stages you may experience throughout the healing process! :)
if you experience any…
⟡ severe swelling, tenderness, or excessive redness
⟡ blistering, pus, green/yellow discharge, or foul odor
⟡ fever or elevated body temperature
skin cells fully regenerate within 6 weeks and this is when your brows will be considered healed. book a touchup within the 6-8 week timeframe so we can perfect your brows! i know scheduling can be tricky, but i recommend a touchup session no later than 12 weeks— and definitely not any earlier than 6 weeks! 6-8 weeks is the recommended sweet spot.
when to contact a doctor:
**mild swelling, itching, scabbing, light bruising, and dry tightness are NORMAL in the first few days of healing. remember to protect your brows with sunscreen (SPF 30 or greater) once they’re fully healed to prevent premature fading or discoloration!
