what to know before you go:

to get the best results; your skin should be calm, hydrated, and healthy prior to your session. think of it as preparing your canvas for art! please review this guide carefully before your appointment.


4 weeks before:

discontinue use of retinol, vitamin A products, tretinoin, AHAs/BHAs, chemical or laser peels, chemical exfoliants, and brightening agents near the brows/forehead/temples.

avoid toxins (botox, dysport), filler, and microdermabrasion near the brows/forehead/temples/11 lines.

1 week before:

avoid excessive sun exposure and tanning on your face.

3 days before:

don’t wax, thread, pluck, or tint your brows.

the day before:

avoid alcohol.

the day of:

avoid alcohol, caffeine (skip the morning coffee, please!), and NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, aspirin, and naproxen. these are all known to thin blood. acetaminophen (tylenol) is okay!

⟡ pre-workout supplements, vitamin B3, fish oil, and anti-inflammatories such as ginger or turmeric should be avoided as well. these are also known to thin blood!

**if you are taking a prescription blood thinner, please talk to your doctor first and get their approval for this procedure. i am not a doctor and i cannot instruct you to stop taking your medication.

walking into your appointment:

⟡ make sure you’ve eaten a full meal and are well-hydrated.

⟡ wear something comfy :)

⟡ you can bring water, snacks, a blanket— whatever makes you feel at ease ♡

⟡ come in with a clean face, no makeup, ready for me to work on!

contraindications

possible issues (check with your doctor):

⟡ diabetes

⟡ autoimmune disorders

⟡ high blood pressure or heart conditions

⟡ taking blood thinning medication for any reason

⟡ in chemo/radiation therapy

i CANNOT work on clients with the following:

⟡ skin infections or open wounds near the brows (this includes pimples!)

⟡ current/recent use of accutane (must wait one year after discontinuing)

⟡ tendency to scar or develop keloids

⟡ known allergies to lidocaine, epinephrine, or stainless steel

⟡ those who are or may be pregnant (must wait until done nursing)
